In Search of… (1976-1982)

OMG! All you had to hear was that opening theme music and you knew you would spend the next 30 minutes having Spock tell you about the scariest crap you have ever heard in your short life to the eeriest soundtrack recorded by man. The blood red back drop of the title card highlighted the kinds of icky things you could see each week: Extraterrestrials! Magic & Witchcraft! Myths & Monsters! Missing Persons! for some reason, the photo of Amelia Earhart TERRIFIED me most of all, even though at the age of 6 I had no idea who she was. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, “Bigfoot” was the episode that made me hide under the covers at night.
