Seeing as i forgot to post the 1ups i promised, i’ll start with those!
…That ain’t even all of ’em, but that’ll have to do for now… I am realizing now that i am way past the halfway point of this journey and i only have about 22 days left to enjoy this experience. As far as posting things on this blog, i am going to have to hurry up if i want to get this all done! I reckon i have about 45 days worth of other adventures to post before i am caught up with the present. So, 1up-wise, that’s about 22 extra lives in Mario terms, and a whole lotta fun for me! Time to move on, and hopefully with more haste than i have been exerting.
Here lies the blank spot where some lost photos would go, had i not lost them… In trying to back up my horde of images, i accidentally deleted the first month of my trip. Most of those have roughly been recorded on this blog, but i lost the in-between shots, the incidentals that were cool but not blog-worthy, the small moments. Then there are the places that i will go back to see: A fairy tale fountain with statues representing some of the great tales, and others that totally eluded my knowing… Felix Mendelssohn’s grave, as well as those of E. T. A. Hoffman and Adelbert von Chamisso, all in one Friedhof… The 1-up i caught on “film” as it went by on the side of a truck… Too bad! Bright side, i can make up for lost time and move on to April 15th!
This day took us to a Euro store, just like a dollar store only with a different currency.
————————————————————————
We left the bargain marts and proceeded to get lost looking for a station that would deliver us unto lunch and then home. Here is some sweet interlude with a funny street name, awesome architecture, and things that were on the walls.
Then we went to Gorki Park, a Russian restaurant across the street from our apartment. The appetizer was called The Intelligentsia, and consisted of “boiled egg with salmon caviar, hering-tartar and home marinated salmon, tuna ciabatta graduated with cheese.” I had dumplings, the Assorti „Moskwa,” several types of fried dumplings with brynsa (crumbly, moist sheep cheese), potatoes, pork and beef, served with spicy dip and salad. Scarlett had Borscht and another type of dumpling mizture i cannot recall right now.
Here’s a blurry picture of our table and another pic from the end of the table!
That about does it for me right now… Getting to be midnight and i am sleepy. Trash panda must recharge. Happy trails to all of you, and may the coming days bode well!
